Chris's story: (Jan. 15, 2004)

It is very rare that I think that a picture taken of me is good. I've usually got a fucked up, crooked smile or one eye open or shut more than the other. You know, all the things that can happen to make a picture go wrong. In this one, even though it is one of my greatest pictures, there are some issues. I look all shiny, I had convertible hair from driving through L.A all day with the top down without the cubs hat on. And I just look sooo damn cheesy! Me & Kirsten were the only people there and we had just caught a lucky break being in the right place @ the right time : )! It was only a couple of minutes between when we realized he was there and when we met him, I kept my cool pretty well. I looked up from the chair and an gave a little nod & said' "what's up Dave?" very calmly, reserved. Little nod back, "hey man." I stood up and extended my hand and he shook my hand. And that dude has a rock solid fucking grip! I know it means a lot to me as it does to other people I'm sure, that as a man, the way another guy shakes your hand is important and says something about him. I said, "Hi Dave, I'm Chris *******" "It's a pleasure to meet you". "Hey, good to meet you too." Then introduced Kirsten and said, "I really don't want to bother you and I hope I'm not but Kirsten and I were wondering if we could get a couple of pictures with you.?" As you can see, he did. We didn't take too much of his time and he was extremely kind and gracious. Very fucking cool of you Dave! So as you see, I may look shitty in this picture, but that was one of my greatest days ever!
